WINTER MUSINGS

Here are some thoughts and images I’ve collected over the past month or so. It seemed like now was a good time to share them…

This is the season of dormancy.

Of recharge.

Of storing up every bit of energy.
For new growth is on the horizon - in the season to follow.

But now, we rest.
Now we slow down; take all the time we need to contemplate.
Consider what the preceding season brought us
and our wishes for the season to come.
No need to be hasty,
for this is a slow and quiet season.
The time will be right,

will be ripe,

when the new season of growth comes.

But this time is also right.
This time is necessary.
This time is deeply desired.

All living things must have this season.
It is a good step to allow to happen.
To resist this season is as futile as trying to stop the wind.
The effort is better spent
in learning to enjoy the wind in your hair,
and if it grows too bitingly cold,
we must learn to find our safe dens
within which to shelter ourselves.

Wishing you a restorative winter season,

Jessica
