Photo of the Week, Year 3, Week 22

“A photographer is like a cod, which produces a million eggs in order that one may reach maturity.”  ~George Bernard Shaw

So, how many frames do you shoot, on average, of a particular subject?  Now, how many would you use?  I typically shoot a minimum of 50-60 frames, and at times upwards of 150 frames of just one subject before I feel I’ve managed to capture a handful of something useful.  Generally, I will use only 3-4 of the very best of that subject – if I even have that many to use!  My point is, keep on shooting and then shoot some more.  Constantly look for a different perspective.  Shoot the obvious angles and get them out of the way – even if you KNOW you won’t use them.  Then you’ll be ready to find the less obvious perspectives, and that’s when the magic happens!

I agree Jessica, I usually use about 1 out of every 100 I shoot; so there are a lot sitting in the archives, LOL!!!!
